BRIAN REITZELL (Composer) is a composer/music supervisor/producer who has almost single-handedly created a new approach to the manner in which music is set to film. He has worked closely with Sofia Coppola in producing some of the most popular indie soundtracks to date. They have worked together to bring a very distinctive and personal feel to her films such as The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, and Lost in Translation. Along with Sofia Coppola’s films, Brian Reitzell’s resume includes CQ starring Jeremy Davies, Friday Night Lights directed by Peter Berg and starring Billy Bob Thornton, and the independently produced character study Thumbsucker, from filmmaker Mike Mills starring Keanu Reeves, Tilda Swinton and Vincent D’Onofrio.  The former Redd Kross drummer and current member of Air and TV Eyes, draws from his background as an indie artist to bring a very unique, hip, and intelligent sound to the screen, avoiding clichés and giving each of his projects a vibe that perfectly blends music, story and image. His music supervision process starts with a mix CD that he presents to the director, and the majority of this music ends up being on the final version of the completed film.  Some of Brian’s other credits include Friday Night Light, 30 Days Of Night, and Marc Forster’s film Stranger Than Fiction.
